Medicines that matter
If you take blood pressure medicine, nitrates, erectile dysfunction drugs, blood thinners or diabetes medicine, ask your doctor before use; arginine may add to their effect. L-arginine is not advised after a recent heart attack without medical approval. Ask your doctor before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or have kidney, liver or heart disease. Keep out of reach of children.
About the animations
The heartbeat trace, artery and route diagrams are teaching aids showing ordinary physiology. The percentages move for illustration; they measure nothing.
When to seek help
Chest pain or pressure, sudden shortness of breath, fainting, one-sided weakness, a drooping face or slurred speech are emergencies: call 911. Leg pain when walking, swelling or blood pressure readings of 130/80 or higher need a medical evaluation, not a supplement.
